Current employees are NOW able to access their W-2 on-line through the FirstFleet portal & Workday. Your 1095C form will be available at a later date. This process is very simple to follow using the video attached below. These forms have also been mailed to the home address on file should you prefer a paper copy.

As 2020 has now come to a close, we know many of you are anxiously awaiting your 2020 W-2 & 1095C in order to begin your tax filing process.

Current and previous employees are NOW able to access their W-2 & 1095C on-line through the FirstFleet portal. This process is very simple and similar to the process everyone uses to access their weekly pay information today. Those who do not download the tax forms online will have forms mailed by 1/31/2021. We hope you find this method of retrieval helpful in your tax filing process.

CURRENT EMPLOYEES

The steps for current employees to access their 2020 W-2 & 1095C information are as follows:

Login at firstfleetinc.com and navigate to myPortal.
Select the Employee tile to narrow the list of items.
Tap or click the item which reads W-2 Wage and Tax Statements.

On the page that loads, you will be provided with a link that says: Click to Access Greenshades. That link will give you immediate access to the payroll and tax forms necessary for your tax filing by following the onscreen instructions.

PREVIOUS EMPLOYEES

Previous employees may still obtain copies of their W-2 & 1095C documents online by clicking this link and providing the details necessary to authenticate your identity. Please make sure you select the option to Access Without an Account. You will be provided with a few options to validate your identity. Should you not desire to retrieve your W-2 & 1095C documents in this manner they will be mailed by 1/31/2021.

We want to assure you that, as soon as the last 2014 payroll was processed, the payroll department began diligently working through the process to get W-2s prepared to meet the federally-mandated January 31st deadline. Christmas Week Direct Deposit

We have had a few inquiries about the payroll deposit date for this week, with it being a holiday week, so we wanted to assure everyone that your pay will be processed for Friday deposit as normal this week.

When banking holidays have fallen on Thursdays in the past though, we have seen a few instances where some banks may be a little later than normal posting deposits to their customers’ accounts on Friday morning.

From our side we wanted to communicate that with regards to payroll deposits we anticipate a normal flow of events, but are here to help should you have any questions or concerns. As always please feel free to contact us if the need arises.

Quarterly Safety Bonus Payments

As communicated via blog earlier this week and via email to all managers a few weeks ago, the quarterly safety bonus payments to our drivers changed to a direct deposit process this week and are included in the drivers' pay today. There has been some concern raised over the tax effect of including this in with the regular paycheck/direct deposit vs. the tax effect when we were issuing the bonus checks separately. Per IRS Publication 15 on bonus payments, any type of bonus payment, which would of course include safety bonus checks, must either be taxed a flat 25% or, alternatively, must be included with regular pay which would be taxed at the normal tax bracket rate.

As you are already aware, fuel bonus payments have been included in with the drivers' regular paychecks for some time now so the way we are handling the safety bonus payments is now consistent with that process and places FirstFleet in full compliance with IRS regulations going forward.

Quarterly Safety Bonus

As another step in the Payroll process of going paperless and to make it more convenient for our drivers to access their bonus pay, we will be converting the quarterly safety bonus payments to direct deposit effective with the third quarter bonuses. If you qualified for a safety bonus for the third quarter, your bonus payment will be included with your regular pay on the November 9th pay date.

We appreciate all our drivers’ efforts to operate in a safe manner on the road, at our terminals, and at our customer locations.

Notice - Bank Change

Effective October 1st, FirstFleet will be transferring our corporate banking relationship from SunTrust Bank over to Wells Fargo Bank. The only change that you may or may not notice is that your pay will originate from a Wells Fargo account rather than SunTrust.

We have taken great care to ensure that this change will not affect the routing of your direct deposit to your bank in any way, but we also wanted you to be informed of the change before it happened. If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please contact the Payroll department in the Corporate office at 800-819-0905.

W-2 Taxable Information

With the closing of one year and the beginning of another it is time once again for W-2 documents to be mailed to our employees and for the tax season to begin. On Janurary 14, 2012 W-2 documents were mailed to FirstFleet, Inc. employees using the address that we had on file as of December, 30, 2011.

Every year there are questions, comments and concerns about the values represented on the documents. The taxable amounts shown on the W-2 often does not match up with any amount shown on the final paystub for the calendar year. To help explain the formula that is used to calculate these values we have prepared the document below.

Reminder - 401K Plan Now Offers Monthly Enrollment

The FIRSTFLEET, INC. 401(K) PLAN is a great way to save for retirement. The goal of the plan is to continue helping you build a more secure financial future by providing a wide array of investment options. All associates that have reached the age of 21 and have been employed at FirstFleet for 60 days are eligible to enroll in the 401k plan at the beginning of each month.

If you would like to enroll, you may do so online at www.principal.com or you can enroll over the phone directly with Principal by calling 1-800-547-7754. If you complete the enrollment process in November, you will be able to start making contributions effective December 1st.

Your terminal manager will have enrollment packets that give more information on the plan including the various investment funds that are available. Also, if you are already contributing to the plan (or even if you are not), please take a look at this linked document that details how much difference increasing your contribution amount by just 1% can make on your projected retirement savings.
